WHITE
The Asolo and Montello hills are one of the smallest wine producing regions of Italy but one which, thanks to its beneficial micro-climate, more than compensates for lack of territory with the superior quality of its wines. The soil composition is perfectly suited to the production of Asolo Docg Superiore Prosecco obtained from the so called Glera grape, a well known autochthonous white variety born on these hills more than one century ago. Bianchetta, Perera, Rabbiosa, Verdiso, Glera Lunga are other local varieties traditionally grown in this area, which can be used for the production of ASOLO DOCG SUPERIORE PROSECCO. Another relevant autochthonous white grape variety is the INCROCIO MANZONI, an indigenous cross with strong aromatic characteristics. When grown on high hilly soils, it will produce a unique and extraordinary dry wine, which finds few equals among the aromatic whites.
RED
On these gentle chalky clay hills a few international red grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, fully express their typical characters and create a truly original marquee, which has resulted in the deserved designation “Controlled and Guaranteed” appellation MONTELLO DOCG.
