About us

Giovanni: The central figure of the winery for all those “osterie and taverns” of the area who have been taking wine from Cantina Cirotto for more than 30 years. A wine merchant in the old style, he is devoted to work and family and hardly allows himself a holiday. He became aware that the time to hand over to his family had come , so he passed the baton to his children: Monica, Barbara and Gilberto, who now run the winery ,together with his son-in-law, Francesco.

Monica: Involved in the winery even as a schoolgirl in her mid-teens. . Immediately after taking her high school diploma she joined the family business bringing with her passion and enthusiasm and taking charge of the office and administration. The love for her job soon infected her husband Francesco, who eventually decided, in 2002, to follow her into the world of wine. Determined and exuberant, she plays a major role in the change process which has taken place in Cantina Cirotto from 2000 through to the present day.

Francesco: Bursting with passion and new ideas. In 2002 he left behind, without a moments hesitation, his banking career to follow his wife Monica into the wine business at Cantina Cirotto. It soon became clear he had an unbounded and enthusiastic passion for wine and wine making. Passionate about life and its challenges, he brought about a deep transformation in the winery by introducing new production facilities and increasing the estate’s vineyards. He now takes care of the wine-making process inside the winery, supported by our enologist, Luciano Vettori.

Barbara: Graduating from the University of Milan with a Degree in Foreign Languages, her great passion is travelling. Some time spent working abroad before joining the family business was a worthwhile opportunity for her personal growth and intellectual development. Since 2008 she has taken care of the export customers and hospitality ,arranging guided tours of the winery and tastings. She also manages the public relations of the winery.

Gilberto: Youngest of the three children. After he completed his school diploma, he travelled to Australia for work experience. On his return he entered the family business, devoting himself to the one thing he’s really fond of: working in the vineyards. Creative and ingenious, he discovers his practical skills. He’s now in charge of the vineyard’s operations, which he manages with great care and respect, an advocate of sustainable agriculture.

Hospitality

The winery is opened to the public every day. You may taste andpurchase the wines from our production; all major credit cards are accepted.

Entry to our cellar is free, our opening hours are :

Monday to Friday 08.30 -12.30 and 14.30 - 18.30.

Saturday: closed.
